Fees & Payment

Matthews Counseling, LLC is a private practice offering outpatient services, using a fee-for-service model.

Our providers have a range of fees, given different degrees, training, and experience.

Current (as of 9/25/23) fees are as follows:

Dr. Jesse Matthews: $175 per hour

Dr. Alexandria DiGuiseppe: $150 per hour

Sarah Youse: $130 per hour

Brian Hickman: $130 per hour

Caitlyn Proctor: $130 per hour

Erin Matthews: $130 per hour

We accept the following forms of payment: cash, check, and credit cards (including health savings accounts (HSAs) and flexible spending accounts (FSAs))

Fees are due at the time of service. Detailed statements of charges can be provided on a monthly basis or upon termination of services, for your records, to submit to an insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement, or to substantiate charges for FSAs.

*We require a credit card to be kept on file for all online services.

**Providers may have availability to offer a "sliding scale" fee, meaning a reduced rate for clients with financial need. A select number of these slots are available.

At this time, only Dr. Jesse Matthews and Brian Hickman participate with insurance companies. This includes:

  • Aetna (Jesse Matthews and Brian Hickman)

  • Cigna (Jesse Matthews only)

  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Highmark, most out-of-state BCBS plans, and federal BCBS plans) (Jesse Matthews and Brian Hickman)

    • (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE Independence Blue Cross (IBX) plans, including Personal Choice or Keystone Health Plan East)

  • Imagine Healthcare (Jesse Matthews only)

  • Medicare (Jesse Matthews only)

  • Quest Behavioral Health (Jesse Matthews only)

*Matthews Counseling, LLC makes no guarantees that your insurance will be accepted or will cover services, whether this includes clients using insurance or those claiming through out-of-network benefits. It is your responsibility to know your insurance benefits and to pay for any charges that insurance does not. This includes notifying your provider in a timely manner if insurance changes or is terminated.

**Before scheduling an appointment, your provider will discuss all of this with you and answer any questions.
